Wintergreen Couch

Wintergreen has a fine to medium leaf texture with a mid blue/green colour. It grows into a lush, dense lawn when maintained well. As a result of its higher density, Wintergreen performs well in heavy traffic conditions.

Whilst Wintergreen has proved to be very successful on sportsfields (used on original construction of ANZ Stadium), it has also been found to perform well as a domestic lawn. It is tolerant to most herbicides and therefore is relatively easy to keep free of weeds. Wintergreen maintains a good winter colour, although it may discolour if soil temperatures drop dramatically during the winter months.

We recommend Wintergreen as a very good grass for domestic lawns as well as sportsfields and golf courses. Both Hope Island Resort on Queensland's Gold Coast and Twin Waters on the Sunshine Coast have Wintergreen fairways, as do many high profile playing fields.
